C. Dale Young practices medicine full-time. He is the author of four collections of poetry as well a novel in stories, The Affliction. His fifth collection of poetry, Prometeo, will be published by Four Way Books in 2021. He is a recipient of fellowships from the Bread Loaf Writers' Conference, the National Endowment for the Arts, the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation, and the Rockefeller Foundation.

His poetry and short fiction have appeared in many anthologies and magazines, including The Best American Poetry, Asian American Poetry: The Next Generation, American Poetry Review, The Atlantic Monthly, The Nation, The New Republic, The Paris Review, and POETRY. He lives in San Francisco with his spouse the biologist and composer Jacob Bertrand.
