Vicky Grut’s short fiction has been published in literary magazines and in collections in the UK and USA and her short story collection Live Show, Drink Included (Holland Park Press, 2018) was short-listed for the 2019 Edge Hill University Prize for best collection of 2018. Individual stories have appeared in the anthology New Writing, NW13 (Picador, 2005) and NW14 (Granta, 2006); Waving at the Gardener (Bloomsbury, 2009); the US podcast platform The Drum (2012) and Best British Short Stories (Salt, 2019). Her nonfiction essay in Harvard Review #43 was listed as one of the ‘Notable Essays of 2012’ in Cheryl Strayed (ed.) Best American Essays, 2013. Vicky has won or been shortlisted for a number of awards for short fiction and her novel was shortlisted for the Caledonia Prize. She has a degree in Fine Art from Goldsmiths College, University of London. She lives in London and teaches creative writing at City Lit Institute and the University of Greenwich.
