Traci Cox is a published author, Fulbright Fellow, and college instructor.

In 2008 she earned her BA with Honors in English and Anthropology from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. She wrote as an Opinion columnist for the university’s newspaper, The Breeze, and was published in various campus publications such as e-Vision, Fugue, and Write On!. Soon after graduating, Traci was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship to Zilina, Slovakia, where she taught English to Slovak high school students, judged English langauge competitions, and helped develop an interactive literature curriculum.

In 2010 she entered George Mason University’s MFA Creative Writing Program in Fairfax, Virginia, where she focused on the Nonfiction genre and completed her thesis–a collection of interrelated essays about travel–under the direction of author Kyoko Mori. One of her essays, “Missed,” was chosen for publication by A.M. Homes in the 2013 edition of The Masters Review.

While in graduate school Traci further cultivated her passion for education, teaching Composition, Literature, and Creative Writing courses at GMU and Northern Virginia Community College. She was the Assistant Nonfiction Editor for Phoebe literary magazine, where she selected pieces for publication and contributed to the Phoebe blog. Currently Traci is an instructor of English at GMU and is accepting writing and editing assignments for academic, researched, technical, travel and magazine writing.
