Stephen D. Gutierrez is the author of three books of stories and essays with small presses, including FC2, and winner of an American Book Award. He has published in magazines and anthologies, both fiction and nonfiction. For many years, he directed the Creative Writing Program at California State University East Bay. He is retired and living in the San Francisco Bay Area.
