Sarah Deming is a writer and teacher based in Brooklyn. Sarah began boxing after graduating from Brown University and was a New York City Golden Gloves champion. She was an HBO Boxing Insider and covered the London Olympics as part of the Emmy-winning NBC team. Her essays have appeared in The New York Times, the Guardian, the Washington Post, the Threepenny Review, Deadspin, and Penthouse Forum. She is the author of the novels Iris, Messenger and Gravity – recently named one of Publisher's Weekly's Best YA of 2019 – and of two ghostwritten erotica novels which were adapted into a Cinemax series. Sarah is proud to be a living kidney donor. She coaches at-risk youth at NYC Cops and Kids Boxing and teaches men's strength at the American Ballet Theatre School.
