Rolf Yngve first published short stories in the 1970’s and 80’s and studied in the writing programs at the University of Utah and Old Dominion University. After retiring from thirty-five years of active duty in the US Navy in 2006, he engaged in the the arts full time and has since written the novel, Any Watch They Keep, and a memoir, Sea of Ash about the murder of Ratish Prasad, the first Hindu memorialized in Arlington Cemetery. His most significant credits include Best American Short Stories, 1979, and Notable Essay in Best American Essays, 2013. Recent publication credits include, Indiana Review (fiction prize), Glimmer Train (3rd place, Family Affairs Contest), bosque journal (runner up, fiction prize). ZZYZYVA, Kenyon Review, Five Points, War, Literature and the Arts Journal, and others. He lives, writes and surfs his sponge in Coronado, CA.
