Rebecca Frankel

Author of New York Times best-selling War Dogs: Tales of Canine Heroism, History, and Loveand forthcoming Into the Forest (St. Martin's Press, September 7, 2021), Rebecca Frankel is a longtime editor and journalist.   

Most recently she was executive editor of Foreign Policy's print magazine. Her editing work has received multiple accolades including a Polk Award in 2016. She has been a guest on Conan, PBS NewsHour, BBC World News, and the Diane Rehm Show, among others. 

Her written work has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, The Atlantic, National Geographic, The Washington Post, and elsewhere. Her piece "The Story of Dyngo, a War Dog Brought Home From Combat," about the retired Air Force bomb-sniffing dog she adopted in 2016, was featured in Smithsonian magazine's "America at War" issue.
