Nancy McCabe

Nancy McCabe is the author of one novel and ​five memoirs. Her work has won a Pushcart and been listed ​eight times in the notable sections of Houghton-Mifflin Best American anthologies.
Her essays have appeared in Newsweek, Prairie Schooner, Fourth Genre, Crazyhorse, Massachusetts Review, and Writer’s Digest, among others. She has published reviews and critical articles in journals including Studies in Popular Culture, The Looking Glass: New Perspectives on Children’s Literature, American Literary Review, and American Literature. Her fiction has most recently appeared in The Citron Review.
She has taught workshops in creative nonfiction, fiction, poetry, and journalism for almost thirty years at six colleges and universities. She currently directs the writing program at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford and teaches in the ​low-residency program in creative writing at Spalding University.
She holds a Ph.D in English from the University of Nebraska, an MFA in creative writing from the University of Arkansas, and a B.A. in English from Wichita State University.
