Nan Z. Da teaches and interprets 19th-century American literature and letters at the University of Notre Dame, where she is an assistant professor in the English department. She is working on a book manuscript that close-reads 19th-century Chinese and American literature and literary rapprochements to describe superficial transnational encounters.
