Born and raised in Georgia, Monic Ductan now lives in Tennessee, where she teaches creative writing and literature at Tennessee Tech University. Monic's writing has appeared in numerous literary journals, including Shenandoah, Oxford American (online), Southeast Review, South Carolina Review, Water~Stone Review, Tahoma Literary Review, Appalachian Review, storySouth, and Arkansas Review. She is at work on her first novel, a book about a Gullah girl coming of age and leaving her South Carolina sea island
