Michelle Brafman has received numerous honors for her fiction, including a Special Mention in the 2010 Pushcart Prize Anthology, the F. Scott Fitzgerald Short Story Prize, the Lilith Magazine Fiction Prize, and the story South Million Writers Award for one of the best online stories published in 2009. Her stories have appeared in the Minnesota Review, Politics Daily, Blackbird, Gargoyle, Fifth Wednesday Journal, and other publications. She also teaches creative writing at George Washington University and community centers and schools throughout the Washington, D.C., area. She holds a BA from the University of California, San Diego, and an MA in Writing from Johns Hopkins University. She is also an award-winning filmmaker and lives in Glen Echo, Maryland, with her husband and children.
