Meron Hadero is an Ethiopian-American writer. She was born in Addis Ababa and lived briefly in Germany (East & West) before moving to the U.S. as a child. Her short stories are featured in Best American Short Stories 2016, The Missouri Review, Boulevard, The Normal School Online, The Offing, and the forthcoming anthology Addis Ababa Noir. She has been a fellow at The MacDowell Colony (supported by an NEA fellowship), Yaddo, and Ragdale, and she has received grants from the International Institute at the University of Michigan, the Elizabeth George Foundation, and Artist Trust. She's a former World Affairs Council fellow and worked as a research analyst for the President of Global Development at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in Seattle. Meron holds an MFA in creative writing from the Helen Zell Writers' Program at the University of Michigan, a JD from Yale Law School (Washington State Bar), an AB from Princeton in history, and is a member of the San Francisco Writers' Grotto where she's working on a novel and story collection.
