Matt Tullis is the author of Running With Ghosts: A Memoir of Surviving Childhood Cancer. He is the director of Digital Journalism and an assistant professor of English at Fairfield University. Tullis is also the host and producer of Gangrey: The Podcast, which focuses on narrative journalism and the reporters who write it. Tullis has written for The Daily Beast, Nieman Storyboard, SB Nation Longform, Cleveland Magazine, and many other publications. He was an enterprise and features reporter at the Columbus Dispatch, where he started the feature obituary series An Ohio Life. Tullis has been noted in Best American Sports Writing three times and Best American Essays once. He’s got an MFA in creative nonfiction from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
