His most recent book of poems is In A Good Time, which received a Spur Award and a Nebraska Book Award. His Landscapes, with Horses won the Western Heritage Award and a Nebraska Book Award. Other books include Conditions of Grace: New and Selected Poems. He has published poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction in such journals as Prairie Schooner, Ninth Letter, River Teeth, Permafrost and Glimmer Train.
