Mark Dostert grew up in Texas and holds degrees from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, University of North Texas, and University of Houston. His writing has appeared in Ascent, Cimarron Review, Hayden's Ferry Review Online Content, Houston Chronicle, Salon, and Southern Indiana Review, and been cited as Notable in The Best American Nonrequired Reading 2011 and The Best American Essays 2013. His current writing project is a short story collection set in 1990s Chicago.
