Laura S. Distelheim received her J.D. from Harvard Law School. Her essays have appeared in An Intricate Weave: Women Write on Girls and Girlhood, Whetstone, and the Chicago Tribune Magazine and are forthcoming in DoubleTake and Pleiades. Grace Notes, her collection of essays in progress, received an award from the Barbara Deming Memorial Fund in 1997.
