Kermit Frazier has had many plays produced in New York and around the country at such theaters as the New Federal Theatre, the Milwaukee Repertory Theater, the Asolo Theater Company, Baltimore Center Stage, the Seattle Children's Theatre, and the First Stage Children's Theater. His plays include Kernel of Sanity, Shadows and Echoes, Little Rock, Legacies, An American Journey, Dinah Washington Is Dead, Class Reunion, Outside the Radio, Sacred Places, Interstices, and Smoldering Fires. He was a head writer for the popular children's television mystery series, "Ghostwriter," and has also written for "Gullah Gullah Island," "The Cosby Mysteries," "The Misadventures of Maya and Miguel," and "The Wonder Pets." Frazier's creative nonfiction, reviews, and short stories have appeared in such publications as Callaloo, The Chicago Review, Green Mountains Review, American Theatre, and The New York Times Book Review. In addition, Smoldering Fires is available at Dramatic Publishing, and Legacies and An American Journey at Broadway Play Publishing. He has had artist residencies not only at MacDowell but also at Yaddo, Blue Mountain Center, Millay, Norton Island, and the Liguria Study Center for the Arts & Humanities in Bogliasco, Italy. He was professor of English at Adelphi University before retiring to write full time, where he taught in the M.F.A. program in creative writing.
