Kendra Atleework is a writer born and raised in the high desert, below the Eastern Sierra Nevada mountains. Her memoir MIRACLE COUNTRY maps the convergence of family, place, and history (forthcoming from Algonquin Books in June of 2020). She serves on the board of directors of the Ellen Meloy Fund for Desert Writers and she lives in Bishop, California.
