Kendra is a reader, a student, a laugher, and writer from Dallas, Texas. She is currently an MFA candidate at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Her essays and poetry have been published in Brevity, Harpur Palate, December Magazine, and The Rumpus among others. She is the author of When You Learn the Alphabet, the winner of the 2018 Iowa Prize in Literary Nonfiction.
