Kate McIntyre's story collection, Mad Prairie, won the Flannery O'Connor Prize and was published in 2021 by University of Georgia Press. Her collection was also named to the longlist for the PEN/Robert W. Bingham Prize for a first collection. Her prose appears in Electric Literature, Copper Nickel, theCincinnati Review, Denver Quarterly, and elsewhere. She grew up in central Kansas and holds a BA from Harvard University, an MFA from Oregon State University, and a PhD from the University of Missouri. She is an assistant professor at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
