Julie Bolitho is a writer and artist currently based in Oxfordshire, England. A native to northern Michigan, Julie received a BA with Honours in English from Alma College and a master's degree in Literature and Medicine from King's College London.
She has written cover stories for a variety of magazines, including Vegan Life and the New Delhi-based Platform, for which she interviewed six-time Grammy nominee, Anoushka Shankar. For her creative work, she has been featured in Cambridge University's Bodies of Work and has won several awards in poetry. Notably, Julie received first prize in the Leaf Books Poetry contest, from which the poetry book, Ukraine and Other Poems was published. She has also been published in a variety of literary journals and her essays have been featured on multiple platforms, including Roanoke Review, Kripalu.org, and Politics.co.uk.
Julie held a two-year writing residency at Cheney School in Oxford with First Story, and she teaches undergraduate dystopian, fantasy and travel writing courses at Saint Clare's College. Furthermore, Julie offers creative writing residentials for the Villier's Park Educational Trust in Cambridgeshire. She is passionate about offering students access to their combined creative and academic potential.
