Julian Zabalbeascoa earned his MFA in Creative Writing in Madrid, Spain. Before moving to Boston, he taught at colleges in California. His short stories have recently appeared or are forthcoming in Glimmer Train (1st Place Winner in the April 2014 Very Short Fiction contest), Ploughshares, Post Road, Shenandoah, Sonora Review, Southern Indiana Review, THEMA, the minnesota review, and Zone 3, and will be translated into Basque by Asun Garikano for the magazine Erlea. He has traveled to over 40 countries in five continents and, along with Sean Conway, leads the Honors College’s study abroad program in San Sebastian, Spain.
