James Winter is an Associate Professor at Kent State University. He has been awarded the CRAFT Short Fiction Prize and Honorable Mentions for the J.F. Powers Prize and the Frank McCourt Memoir Prize. His work has appeared in One Story, PANK Magazine, Salamander, Midwestern Gothic, and Dappled Things, among others, including a Special/Notable Mention for the Pushcart Prize. Recently, he was named a Tennessee Williams Scholar in Fiction at the Sewanee Writers' Conference.
