Garnette Cadogan

Garnette Cadogan writes about culture and the arts for various publications. He is editor-at-large for Unstoppable Metropolis: A New York City Atlas (co-edited by fellow IPK Visiting Scholars, Joshua Jelly-Schapiro and Rebecca Solnit) and is co-editor (with Shirley E. Thompson) of the Oxford Handbook of the Harlem Renaissance. His current research interests are the cultural dynamics of urban change, the phenomenology of walking, and the traditions of pedestrianism in literature. At IPK, his research is focused on ways to imaginatively explore and visually render the social and political complexity of New York City.
