Frank D. Walters, Associate Professor and Director of Composition, received his PhD from Northern Illinois University in 1991. His principal research interests are in rhetoric and the history of rhetoric, composition studies, and technical and professional writing, and his teaching interests are in undergraduate writing courses and graduate rhetoric courses.
He has published articles in College English, Philosophy and Rhetoric, and The Journal of Advanced Composition, and has presented papers at the Modern Language Association annual meeting, the Conference on College Composition and Communication, and the Penn State annual conference on rhetoric. He is currently working on research in classical rhetoric and its connections with contemporary issues in composition.
