Erica X Eisen is a writer, editor, and journalist currently living in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. She received her bachelor's degree in History of Art & Architecture from Harvard University with a focus on Japanese art and her MA in Buddhist Art History & Conservation from The Courtauld Institute of Art. Her work frequently focuses on the intersection of the arts and broader political or social themes. She is a reader at Granta and an associate editor at Hypocrite Reader. She is currently working on her first novel. She also runs Bishkek Spotting, a visual exploration of Bishkek's art, history, and urban fabric.
