Elizabeth Winkler is a journalist and book critic based in New York. Her profiles and reviews appear regularly in The Wall Street Journal. Previously, she wrote for The Economist in London and Washington, DC. She went to Princeton University and received her MA in English literature from Stanford University. Her work has also appeared in The New Republic, The Times Literary Supplement, and The Washington Post, among other places. Her essay on Shakespeare in The Atlantic was selected for The Best American Essays 2020.
