Dudley Clendinen was an American editorial writer for “The New York Times”. He was the editor of a book of essays, “The Prevailing South”, and the author of the text of a book of photographs, “Homeless in America”. He was co-author, with Adam Nagourney, of “Out for Good: The Struggle to Build a Gay Rights Movement in America”. He died in May 2012.
