David Bromwich grew up in North Hollywood, earned his BA and PhD from Yale (1973, 1977), and has taught at Princeton, Yale, Columbia, and the University of Chicago. His writings on books and movies have appeared in The Threepenny Review,the TLS, The New Republic,The New Leader, and the New York Review of Books. His political commentries have been published inDissent, the Nation, and the London Review of Books.
