Dr. McQuerry specializes in creative writing/poetry, with a secondary specialization in 20th Century American Literature. Her poetry collection, Lacemakers (Southern Illinois University Press, 2012), was winner of the Crab Orchard Series First Book Prize, and her poems have appeared in journals such as American Literary Review, Western Humanities Review, Los Angeles Review, Fugue, Poetry Northwest, and Waxwing. She also writes nonfiction. Her essays have received a Best American Essays notable award and have been published in Creative Nonfiction and Oregon Quarterly.
