Christine Boyer

Website

Christine was born and raised in the vast bituminous coal fields of central Pennsylvania, the heiress-apparent to a small but mighty scrapple empire that she would eventually abandon for adventure outside of Penn's Woods.

Her hometown had one traffic light, one funeral home, and a volunteer fire department. There was also a flourishing slow-pitch softball league (photo evidence provided at right).

Christine attended college at the University of Pittsburgh and Baker College, where she earned a bachelor's and master's, respectively, in non-writing related fields.

She has a fiction certificate from the UCLA Extension Writers Program, and she has also taken classes with Creative Nonfiction and Gotham Writers.

She is currently pursuing a Master of Liberal Arts in Creative Writing from the Harvard Extension School.

As she was born and raised in a commonwealth, Christine can now only abide the rarefied air of non-states—which is why she now calls Massachusetts home (despite a marked indifference to Dunkin Donuts and non-rhotic accents).
