Chris Drangle grew up in Arkansas and went to school in New Orleans. Before earning an MFA in fiction at Cornell University, he worked as a car washer, a radio DJ, a legal assistant, a copywriter, and the guy who drives the caged golf cart at driving ranges.
He taught creative writing workshops and first-year writing seminars at Cornell, where he also served as an assistant editor for Epoch magazine. Recently he taught creative writing in Kazakhstan and was the Margaret Bridgman Scholar in Fiction at the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference.
He is currently a Wallace Stegner Fellow at Stanford University and lives in Oakland, California.
