Caitlin Hill

Website

Caitlin Hill is a memoirist, essayist, and columnist from South Dakota. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in English and professional writing at Black Hills State University in Spearfish, South Dakota, and she is currently a Master of Fine Arts Creative Writing candidate in nonfiction at the University of Idaho, where she is an instructor of first-year and creative writing. Her writing is largely focused on the places that have held and shaped her life thus far—a small rural farming and dairy town in northeastern South Dakota, the peaks and canyons of the Black Hills, and, now, the Palouse region of northern Idaho. Through analyzing these places, she explores topics ranging from the economics of Thorstein Veblen to the landscaping of cemeteries. She lives, writes, and travels with her plant/life-companion, Bruce the golden pothos.
