Bruce Ballenger is an emeritus professor of English at Boise State University where he taught courses in creative nonfiction, composition theory and pedagogy, and inquiry-based learning. He is the author of seven books, including two best-selling rhetorics, The Curious Writer and The Curious Researcher, and a text on creative nonfiction, Crafting Truth: Short Studies in Creative Nonfiction. Most recently, his essays have appeared in Fourth Genre, River Teeth, and Writer's Chronicle. Ballenger earned an MA in Nonfiction and a Ph.D. in composition and literature at the University of New Hampshire. He also has an MS in Natural Resources from the University of Michigan.
