Beena Kamlani has held editorial positions at Harper & Row, Random House and is now senior editor at the Penguin Group. As Saul Bellow’s editor, she worked with him closely from 1990 until his death in 2005. Among other authors she has worked with are Paul Beatty, Diane Middlebrook, Margot Livesey, David Leavitt, Garrison Keillor, and Blanche Weisen Cook. She was an associate professor of publishing at New York University until 2011, and now teaches at Hunter College.
