Asako Serizawa

Asako Serizawa was born in Japan and spent her pre-college life in Singapore, Jakarta, and Tokyo. She completed her BA in English and French at Tufts University, her MA in English and American literature at Brown University, and her MFA in creative writing at Emerson College.

Her stories have appeared or are forthcoming in The Southern Review, Prairie Schooner, The Antioch Review, The Hudson Review, the 2013 O. Henry Prize Stories, and the 2016 Pushcart Prize anthology. A recipient of a Glenna Luschei Prairie Schooner Award, she has also received grants from the Ludwig Vogelstein Foundation and the Vermont Studio Center. She is currently a Writing Fellow at the Provincetown Fine Arts Work Center, where she is finishing up a collection of interconnected stories revolving around the legacies of imperialism and war.
