Ann Markle received her Bachelor’s in Psychology and Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Indiana State University. She lived and worked for 24 years as a therapist, and earned a Master’s in Social Work from SUNY/Buffalo. During her time in Buffalo she was also active in the literary community, publishing in several local and small press venues, including Earth’s Daughters and the Buffalo News Sunday literary page. She served as founding editor of “Buffalo Arts Review” (1985-90) and “Faith…Works” (1988-90).
In the 1990s, she felt the call to the Episcopal priesthood and attended Yale Divinity School for her Master’s in Divinity. She was ordained to the priesthood in 2000 and now serves as Rector of St. Raphael’s Episcopal Church, a position she still holds. She has been a member of the Cookeville Creative Writers’ Association for two years.
She keeps a journal and writes sermons every week, as well as publishes in local denominational newsletters. Her blog is called One Wild and Precious Life.
