Alexis Taines Coe is an award-winning American historian, focused on the presidency, women, and political history. She holds a graduate degree in early 20th century American history.

She co-hosts the Audible series, "Presidents Are People, Too!" and wrote the narrative history book, Alice+Freda Forever. She is a consultant on the movie adaptation, currently in production. Alexis is now at work on her second book, a biography on George Washington, under the working title You Never Forget Your First, to be published by Viking (Penguin/Random House) in 2018. Alexis is the the historian-at-large at Lenny Letter, Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner's newsletter, for which she writes a column on primary sources. She's also the in-house-historian at The Wing, where she delivers a monthly lecture on women's history. She is a consultant Dunham and Konner's forthcoming HBO movie, “If These Walls Could Talk.”
