Abe Aamidor is a former long-term feature writer at the St. Louis Globe-Democrat, The (Champaign-Urbana) News-Gazette and The Indianapolis Star. He is the Author, Co-author or Editor of seven books, including “At the Crossroads: Middle America and the Battle to Save the Car Industry” (ECW Press, 2010), which was very favorably reviewed in The Christian Science Monitor and the Library Journal, and “Media Smackdown: Deconstructing the News and the Future of Journalism” (Peter Lang USA, 2013), which takes an even-handed look at the current crisis in journalism. Aamidor’s new novel, “Letting Go”, is published by The Permanent Press and Blackstone Audio.

Aamidor has had more than a dozen short stories published in literary magazines since 2012, including in Amoskeag: The Journal of Southern New Hampshire University; Chicago Quarterly Review; The Poydras Review; The Gettysburg Review (twice); Garbanzo Literary Journal; The Worcester Review: Grey Sparrow Journal; The Arkansas Review; The Antioch Review; and Black & White (a multicultural journal). Poydras and Grey Sparrow are available online; the others are hard copy literary magazines.

Aamidor has had articles on writing and journalism published in Quill, the official magazine of The Society of Professional Journalists; Issues in Writing (published by the English Department at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point; and the Gateway Journalism Review (formerly St. Louis Journalism Review). In addition, he has been published in Asylum: The Radical Mental Health Magazine.
