Part-time study

Yes, but we have a very limited number of places for part-time MA students. Part-time students have 6 years to complete the degree and can take a maximum of 2.5 full courses per annum and a minimum of .5. The cost is the same as a full-time MA, but it is spread over 6 years. If you wish to apply for the part-time M.A., you must indicate this on the application form.

Financial Aid

For non-International students, there is usually (but not always) an entrance scholarship for the first year valued at $7000. Students are also encouraged to apply for SSHRC/OGS.

Teaching opportunities

TAships are available to students, some (but not all) of which involve leading tutorials.

Editorial opportunities

There are a small number of positions hired each year for the Hart House Review, but all students are encouraged to volunteer with the University's creative writing journal, Echolocation.
