We are fully funded. Our TAs have a 2-2 teaching load and receive enormous support from our writing program director and staff. TAs teach freshman writing for the first two years; in their final year of study, most TAs co-teach an introductory course in Creative Writing. TAs, as department needs arise, also teach upper-division creative writing courses in Poetry, Ficiton, and CNF and teach lower-division gen-ed CNF courses.

While we require applicants to commit to one particular genre, we encourage students to “cross-pollinate” and to push themselves in new directions.
