Sarah Bryan is a native of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. A folklorist, she is the coauthor of Lead Kindly Light: Pre-War Music and Photographs from the American South and the editor of The Old-Time Herald, a quarterly magazine about traditional Southern string band music.
