Website

Richard Prins is a New Yorker who sometimes lives in Dar es Salaam, where he advises an entertainment company that organizes Swahili hip-hop festivals.. He received his MFA degree in poetry from New York University, where he was a Goldwater Fellow and Adjunct Instructor of Creative Writing. Now he avoids situations where he might be asked, “what do you do?” and have to answer “I’m a poet” without sounding too wacky or precious. His current projects include a poetry manuscript “Naked Choir” and a collection of travel narratives “The Wanderer Eats His Own Legs”. He currently serves as poetry editor with the literary series Ink.ed MFA and as a poetry instructor and mentor with Hunts Point Alliance For Children. He also manages a mixed-use building in Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn, where he lives.
