Katherine Schaefer

Katherine Schaefer is a writer of creative nonfiction and memoir. Her essay “Edna, With Her Mouth” won the 2016 Hunger Mountain Creative Nonfiction Prize and was published in Hunger Mountain. Her writing also has appeared or is forthcoming in Tampa Review, The Matador Review, The Talking Stick, and Minnetonka Review, and has received grants and awards from the Minnesota State Arts Board, Key West Literary Seminar, and Brainerd Writers’ Alliance. She has been a finalist for the Salem College International Literary Awards three times, a finalist and honorable mention for the Loft Mentor Series three times, and a 2013 Pushcart Prize nominee.
