Hafeez Lakhani was born in Hyderabad, India, and raised in suburban South Florida. A graduate of Yale, he has received fellowships from the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, Vermont Studio Center, and Santa Fe Art Institute. He was named a PEN Emerging Voice for an excerpt of a memoir-in-progress about immigrant transformation. A former NGO field worker in India and a commodities trader on Wall Street, he writes now from Brooklyn.
