Graham Hillard teaches creative writing, contemporary literature, and composition and is the founding editor of The Cumberland River Review, a national literary quarterly. He holds an MFA from New York University, where he studied poetry with Galway Kinnell, Sharon Olds, Edward Hirsch, Stephen Dunn, Phillis Levin, Tom Sleigh, and Elizabeth Alexander. His poems, stories, and essays have appeared in 32 Poems, Apalachee Review, Fugue, The Journal, The Oxford American, Prairie Fire, Puerto del Sol, Regarding Arts and Letters, Tar River Poetry, and many other journals, including Best New Poets 2010, guest edited by Claudia Emerson. His investigative feature “A Killing in Cordova: The Trial and Tribulations of Harry Ray Coleman” (Memphis Magazine) was a finalist for the 2012 Livingston Award for Young Journalists.
