Erica Berry is the forthcoming 2019-2020 National Writers’ Series Teaching Fellow in Traverse City, Michigan. Her essays and journalism appear or are forthcoming in Gulf Coast, The New York Times Magazine, Colorado Review, Fourth Genre, Literary Hub, The Atlantic, Pacific Standard,  and Guernica, among others. Winner of the 2018 Steinberg Essay Prize and a 2018 AWP Intro Journals Award, she has recently received grants and fellowships from the Minnesota State Arts Board, the Bread Loaf Writers Conference, Tin House, and the Judd Foundation. Born in Oregon, she has also lived and worked in Maine, Scotland, Sicily and Minnesota, where she received her MFA from the University of Minnesota in 2018.
