Elliott Holt was born and raised in Washington, D.C., and has lived in Moscow, London, Amsterdam, Paris, and New York. Her writing has been published in the New York Times, Slate, Time, Virginia Quarterly Review, Guernica, Kenyon Review online, The Millions, and elsewhere. Her fiction has won a Pushcart Prize as well as fellowships from the Sewanee Writers’ Conference, the Tin House Summer Writers’ Workshop, Yaddo and The MacDowell Colony. Her first novel You Are One of Them was a New York Times Book Review Editors’ Choice, was longlisted for the Flaherty-Dunnan first novel prize from the Center for Fiction, and was a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle’s inaugural John Leonard Award for a first book.
