Douglas Silver's fiction has appeared in The Rumpus, The Cincinnati Review, New England Review, The Chicago Tribune Printers Row Journal, Crazyhorse, The Literary Review, Callaloo, Blackbird, and elsewhere. His work was cited as a "Distinguished Story" in Best American Short Stories 2019 and has been recognized in  competitions by Narrative Magazine, Glimmer Train, American Short Fiction, and Zoetrope: All-Story. A grant recipient of the Elizabeth George Foundation and former writer-in-residence at the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation, he lives in New York City.
