Chloe Honum

Chloe Honum was born in Santa Monica, California, and raised in Auckland, New Zealand. She is the author of THE TULIP-FLAME, selected by Tracy K. Smith for the 2013 Cleveland State University Poetry Center First Book Prize. THE TULIP-FLAME won Foreword Review’s Book of the Year Award, the Eric Hoffer Book Award, and the Best First Book of Poetry Award from the Texas Institute of Letters, and was named a finalist for the PEN Center USA Literary Award. Honum’s poems and essays have appeared in The Paris Review, Poetry, Agni, and The Southern Review, among other journals. She is the recipient of a Ruth Lilly Fellowship from the Poetry Foundation and a Pushcart Prize, as well as fellowships from the MacDowell Colony, the Kerouac House of Orlando, and the Sewanee Writers’ Conference. She holds a B.A. from Sarah Lawrence College and an M.F.A. from the University of Arkansas. At present, Chloe is a Ph.D. candidate at Texas Tech University, where she is the Helen Devitt Jones Fellow.
